Raini Chugh
Executive Director
Raini provides campaign direction and leadership for each of the Project Earth Team’s advocacy and education projects, as well as coordination with local partners and daily organization management. She created the Project Earth Team in 2018 after watching a video of a starving polar bear that made her feel she had to do something. Soon after, a conversation at a Sustainable Lafayette party gave her the idea to form a team, so she talked to her third grade class about the issue and rallied students who wanted to make a difference. She has always had a love for the environment, and she firmly believes that everyone must work together to advocate for the future of our planet, knowing that action must happen now. Raini is a rising sophomore at Campolindo High School and also dedicates a good amount of her time to playing basketball. When she is not on the basketball court or tackling local environmental issues, Raini enjoys playing the piano, doing graphic design work and art, coaching younger basketball players, and spending time with her dog.

David Siu
Director of Operations
David oversees the organization of the team’s campaigns and supports overall operations. Growing up near the national parks and rolling hills of the bay area instilled David’s love for nature from a young age, fueling his passion for the environment and leading to his key leadership within the Project Earth Team. He firmly believes that advocacy is key to developing lasting progress and works on supporting local, state, and national initiatives that align with Project Earth Team’s mission to create a better future. Through Project Earth, he continuously works on ensuring environmental awareness throughout his community. He knows it is especially important for youth to get involved in this fight because they are the future. David lives by his motto of “Build what you believe in”, as he is also a key activist in the AAPI community by supporting young voices with AAPI Youth Rising and is the Executive Director/founder of Music for Contra Costa. In his free time, David loves playing the violin, parliamentary debate, and traveling with his family.

Lauren Brekke
Director of Outreach
Lauren specializes in helping this team educate the public through events and social media. Prior to joining Project Earth, Lauren knew little to nothing about the climate crisis. When she heard the horrors of what was happening, she felt the need to take action, and joined the team in 2018. Lauren’s favorite part of working with the Project Earth Team is all of the people she has worked alongside and the connections she has made. She and her two older siblings have lived in Lafayette their whole lives, and she cares deeply about the community and the health of Lafayette. Lauren attends Carondelet High School, and enjoys playing sports, specifically running and swimming. When Lauren isn’t playing sports or working on environmental awareness, she loves spending time with her friends and family and working as a swim coach to help young kids reach their full athletic potential.
